Being creative isn’t hard. Everyone has creativity, it’s just a matter of learning how to let it flow. There are so many things to distract us from being creative. The important thing is you need to take the time and make a space for creativity. It is also important to decide that you want to be creative.

Regularly refreshing your creativity is a good thing. The key to refreshing creativity is faith. As you put yourself in a quiet place to focus, the Lord will bless you, and the creativity you have been given will simply be there for you to tap into. This kind of creative faith will always produce inspiration. You will experience a creative flow.

Creativity flows like rivers. The Bible tells us in John 7:38 that out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. Those rivers are the Holy Spirit and they flow by the Holy Spirit. In Genesis we find the Holy Spirit was active in creation. He is active in our creativity as we have faith in God and allow His rivers to flow in our lives.

You can see there are many talented people. Some are famous, some are not. It’s important to note that everyone has a talent whether you see it or not. Talents are gifts given individually. People often compare their talent to others. This inhibits individual creativity and is one way to bury it. To compare your creativity restricts the unique person you are. To be creative with the abilities that God has given each of us takes a flow. The Holy Spirit flows in our lives with rivers of creativity; with rivers of life!

People often use creativity to focus and relax because when you are creative, you will find yourself changing your outlook. One key to being creative is to walk away from strife. Stress, frustration, fighting, anger, and arguing make it difficult to let creativity flow. When you put yourself in a position of faith, allowing creativity to be inspired by the Creator, you will feel refreshed and inspired. Choosing by faith, to be creative, helps you to walk away from strife.

The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 17:14 that strife and quarreling lets out water. It says,

“The start of a quarrel is like a leak in a dam, so stop it before it bursts.” Proverbs 17:4 (The Message Bible)

The beginning of strife is as when one lets out water; therefore abandon contention before a quarrel starts.” Proverbs 17:14 (Modern English Version)

This is a key principle for creativity and for every area of our lives. We are created by Our Creator. He is the River within us. He lifts us up and refreshes us. We need to choose life and not strife. We need to take time for our creativity. As we do, creativity will flow like rivers of living water that simply cannot be stopped.
