Creative living is inspired. Creative living expresses. Creative living is simply bringing expression from within yourself. As you embrace creativity and reflect on being creative, it will make such a difference to everyday living. Being creatively inspired brings out your individual gifted expression.
The creative gifts you have were given to you by the Creator. Expressing creativity is expressing Him and who you are in Him. As you tap into His inspiration, your gifts are an expression of who He is. We are meant to express through our creativity.
Creativity speaks just like words do. God said, “Let there be”, and His creative expression created the world and all that is within it. Before the world He created angels. The heavens He created declares His glory. He painted the universe as He fashioned planets like Saturn and Pluto, and the millions and millions of stars that go beyond what we can visibly see. His creative force designed, fashioned, and formed Heaven itself. We can’t even imagine the limitless creativity of our God. Creative living is creative life given to us by a wonder-filled Creative God who formed and fashioned us creatively in His image. Thinking on these things is inspiring.
Taking the time to think, pray, embrace the word of God, and be reminded of His creativeness inspires creativity. Inspiration defined is, ‘a sudden brilliant, creative, or timely idea’. The definition also says it’s, “the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative”.
In 1 Timothy 4:14-16 it says to, “Neglect not the gift that is in thee… Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all… Take heed unto thyself, and unto the (word & teachings) doctrine; continue in them…”
Don’t neglect creativity. Creative living is faith’s expression. Everyday you have an opportunity to express. Expression through words, giving, designing, business, organizing, teaching, baking, the arts, parenthood, friendships, families, decreeing, praying, confessing, writing, planting, painting, and more, is the expression of creative living. As you creatively express through what He’s given you to do, and simply meditate on the blessing of the word with all His gifts, this makes your way to prosper in creative life.
Joshua 1:8 says,
“This book of the law (the word of God and His ways) shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
The word meditate here is defined as speaking and murmuring. Murmuring means in Hebrew, continued regular speaking. This makes it clear that we have God’s inspired ability and blessing for creative good success, as we simply meditate and speak God’s creative word daily.
Jesus has given us the creative expression of creativity. Everything He did, does, and has done, for us is creative. Every miracle, every spoken word, every expression of love and faith; His creativity is still working in our lives. Creative living is the expression of Jesus Christ, as it says in Colossians 1:15-16,
“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible…”
As Christians, we are the expression of Jesus. We are the expression of God’s word. Our creative gifts can be an expression for Him, in Him, and through Him. Just like the words we speak, creativity will express life or death. Our creative gifts, if we allow ourselves to be influenced wrongly, can be an expression of wrong philosophies, wrong thinking, and wrong doctrines. We choose how we express our creative gifts as, Light or darkness, good or evil, help or hurt, love or hate. What you design will come from what design you have allowed to influence you. So embrace Philippians 4:8,
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
His expression of life defines and inspires creative living. His word is spirit and life and as you meditate on His word, on Him, and on your expression of simply creatively designing in your everyday living, His blessing of creativity will bless all you put your hands to. Live everyday creatively with the Creator. He will inspire you with new ideas, concepts, and insights for creative living. This kind of creative living comes from life Himself and brings you His gift of limitless living. That’s creative living at its best.
