You may ask, how does the media, religion, and humility have anything to do with each other? God wants us to be well established and rooted in His word and His ways. It is God’s plan for His church to uphold His word. First and foremost, that takes humility. Laying down your plans, and your ambitions doesn’t necessarily come that easy. We all know the people of God are not perfect, but we have the liberty of God’s word to set us free and to preach to others.
James 1:25-27, tells us,
“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
There is a move in the media industry. The tongue is not bridled, hearts are deceived, and purity has ceased. We as Christians can embrace it, uphold it, tolerate it, or move after God’s plan and design through the church. We cannot look into the ‘perfect law of liberty’, (God’s word and His way of doing things) and ignore what we see or especially what He has defined as right and wrong. To be brave enough to live humbly and walk away from secularism and humanism is a must. If we live as Christians, we must come to terms that now is the time to realize that the media industry is a platform that preaches its message to everyone. That platform includes a worldview, as well as naturalistic, pantheistic, and multiple philosophical views. This platform reaches the family, the individual, as well as, the ‘fatherless and widows in their affliction’.
It is time that we uphold God’s truth and not tolerate another gospel for our entertainment needs; especially the needs of our children. I can boldly say we must put our actions, our money, and our passion behind ‘doing the work’ and answering the call to uphold God’s perfect law of liberty and to embrace His way of doing things. As Christians, it is time to embrace and propel God’s word through the media industry. He is raising up people to bring quality faith based entertainment, to reach individuals and families with quality faith based media. He is raising up those to preach His word and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus through faith based films, as well as quality family productions.
In Christ there is so much more than what is offered and if we as Christians embrace another gospel, we are deceiving ourselves. We are in a season for change and revival. It is time to be ‘unspotted from the world’, which includes the philosophies they embrace and preach. To live fully persuaded in God’s word and God’s way of doing things, will pay off with ‘life’ and the ‘blessing’ of God. It is filled with His abundance, His purpose, and His design. Step in and step out. The river of God’s word runs deep! His way of doing things brings the Kingdom blessing to not only you, but your family, as well as the world.
